If
you are using the Netscape
or Opera
browsers, you may have problems seeing the pages are they
really are (though almost all of these problems have now been ironed out).
N.B. Older versions of any browser may cause you viewing problems.
You
could need plugins, and your version of Netscape,
Opera
or
Mozilla Firefox
may prompt you to download these (or it may not!).
We
recommend your use of Microsoft Internet
Explorer,
though it is a
known fact that the use of other browsers, like
Mozilla Firefox, is often recommended for security reasons. This page gives some helpful information on the other
browsers.
Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6 is still available
here.
Here is the latest help from Microsoft
regarding
Internet Explorer
7.
(Please be patient - this
can be slow to load).
Netscape 8.1.2 is released.

Netscape 8.1.2
The
very latest product from Netscape,
Netscape 8.1.2, is a good browser (though a little slow in loading,
and not very fast when surfing), but at last it shows our site as
it is meant to be..
You
can no longer get older versions of Netscape,
but it's best not to use
old versions of Netscape
anyway, because frankly your Net enjoyment would be diminished
since modern Websites no longer support them.
I really wouldn't bother with older versions of Netscape
if I were you. If you prefer not to surf with Microsoft
Internet Explorer,
using
Firefox
is a good alternative. If you are simply interested in
learning more about Netscape,
you can visit their
Website.
Netscape
4x
In the older Netscape 4x
series, which I know
that some surfers still use,
Back buttons like those on this page
do not appear in green, as they should do, but in grey, and
other elements may also not be visible. Incorrect
fonts may appear, and in the wrong colour. I have
now tried to put this right, but would like to hear
from you if you have any viewing peculiarities.
However...
Should you be
using Netscape
4x,
please
upgrade,
if only for your own surfing pleasure!
Better still, get Microsoft
Internet Explorer 7
here
or
Firefox!
Firefox
Firefox
works just like
Internet Explorer.
There's really no need for me to go into any technical
details here, except to say that
this browser is often recommended nowadays for
security reasons. Get it
here.
Opera
I
sometimes
still use the old Opera
5.12 for
some of my testing.
Opera
5.12 is by no means the latest version, and it seems to
render our pages quite poorly. The
Back
buttons like those on this page do not appear in green, as
they should do, but in grey. Also, you will not see the
nice ridged borders around the various 'boxes' on the
pages. However, as they claim at
Opera,
their users are calling this "the
fastest, smallest, most full-featured desktop browser on
the market".
Opera 9.24 is now out
and it renders our Website perfectly. Like
Netscape 8.1.2, Opera
9.24 is a good browser,
and it's now free. :o)
NeoPlanet

The
NeoPlanet Browser site is
now
linking only to an older version of that browser,
though it's
probably useable. Pity anyway.
Q: Why would I use
NeoPlanet Browser, and not my usual browser?
A:
NeoPlanet Browser is an addition to Microsoft Internet
Explorer. It provides an interface for your browser that is completely customizable by YOU.
To read more, click here
for NeoPlanet
Browser Support.
I have the latest version, NeoPlanet
Browser, V. 5.2, Build 1704,
and it shows our Website as it should be, just as Microsoft
Internet Explorer
does. It's a fun browser, and you can enjoy using its
'skins' (colour schemes & designs), and also its
sounds. Check it out at NeoPlanet.com.
By the way, it's free!
The download is
